HUNGATE Yellow moved five points clear at the top of the Division One table after hammering Langtoft 11-1.

With title rivals Powerleague and Malborne drawing 2-2, the defending champions - and in particular Ryan Harnwell - took full advantage.

Harnwell scored four goals while Kieran Higgs (2), Harry Baldry (2), Sam Bedwell-Byatt (2) and Matthew Holden were also on target.

Sami Isenovic scored for Langtoft who are now five points adrift at the bottom of the table.

n HOLBEACH took another step towards the Division Two title after coming out on top 6-3 in their crunch match with Netherton Owls.

Using a new 4-4-3 formation, Holbeach raced into an early 4-0 lead thanks to an own goal and strikes from Jack Issitt, Freddie Pearson and Luke Barnes.

Before half-time, however, the Owls were back in the game thanks to a hat-trick from Bailey Pillin.

But after the half-time break Holbeach took control again through Pearson and Sam Gray, who netted his first competitive goal for the title-chasing club.

Manager Des Ford said: “We caught them out early on with a new formation and by the time they realised what was happening we were 4-0 up.

“But to be fair they adjusted and came right back at us.

“In the second half I brought on Levi Butland and his passing made a big difference to us and it helped kill off the game.

“We are in a great position in the league now but we will know more once we have played Wisbech St Mary and Wasps which will both be very tough games.”
