New Netherton manager Jon ‘Abbas’ Harrison insists his side can win the Peterborough Premier Division title.
The city side, who have lost top scorer Ben Cullen to Huntingdon and replaced him with well-travelled striker Dwayne Rankin, are fourth, eight points behind leaders Oakham with two games in hand after beating Moulton Harrox 3-1 at the Grange on Saturday.
Harrison was among the scorers against Harrox. Jake Sansby and Tom Randall also netted.
“When we are on our game we are as good as anyone,” Harrison insisted.
“We play Oakham in a couple of weeks and if we win that game we are right back in the thick of the title race.
“We’ve adopted a more attacking style in recent games and it suits us.
“Obviously it’s a blow to lose Ben, but he had a chance of playing at a higher standard and I don’t blame him for taking it. He was leaving to join the forces in January anyway.
“Dwayne is a top replacement though.”
Rankin will make his debut at Langtoft this Saturday.
