AFC Stanground claimed their first win of the Peterborough Premier Division at the eighth attempt on Saturday (September 12).

Brothers Josh and Tom Staggs scored three goals between them with Liam Whaley also on target in a 4-0 win at Crowland. Newly-promoted Stanground had lost their seven previous Premier Division matches.

Stanground have now jumped over city rivals Riverside who have just one point from their seven matches after losing 6-0 at home to Pinchbeck. Tom Edwards scored twice for the winners.

Deeping Rangers Reserves were the biggest winners of the day as they smashed Ketton 9-0. Connor Pilbeam (3) and Matthew Atkins (2) scored the bulk of the goals.

Matt Heron and Joe Butterworth both scored twice in Whittlesey United’s 5-0 success at Sawtry and Liam Rodden also bagged a brace in Stilton’s 3-2 win over Holbeach United Reserves.

Langtoft United have enjoyed an excellent start to the season and that continued with a 3-0 success at ICA Sports who saw Dan Fountain sent off. Joe Dobson, Daniel Jarman and Connor Godden scored for Langtoft.

Leaders Peterborough Sports Reserves were without a fixture and second-placed Moulton Harrox took full advantage to move alongside them on 18 points. Moulton are second on goal difference despite a 7-1 win at Leverington, but they have won all six of their matches and have a game in hand on Sports.

Ian Bradbury (2), Adam Abell (2), Joe Townsend (2) and Martin Sandall scored the Moulton goals.

Netherton United and Thorney failed to keep pace after a 1-1 draw at the Grange. Thorney remain unbeaten but have drawn five of their eight matches,
