Riverside are off and running in the Peterborough League Premier Division at the seventh attempt.

The city side picked up their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw at Langtoft United on Saturday (September 5). Roberto Da Silva scored the Riverside goal with Callum Fox on target for Langtoft.

It was a frustrating result for the home side who became the first team to beat leaders Peterborough Sports Reserves in their previous outing.

Leverington Sports collected their first win of the campaign. They won 3-2 at Crowland for whom Mark Hynes scored twice.

Newly-promoted AFC Stanground are now the only top flight side without a point, They battled hard at Deeping Rangers Reserves before succumbing to a sixth straight reverse. Connor Pilbeam scored both Deeping goals in a 2-1 win with Josh Rust replying for Stanground.

Sports Reserves moved three points clear at the top after romping to a 6-0 win at Uppingham. Gary Gibbs and Chris Brown both scored twice.

Netherton United also hit six of the best at Stilton United. Lee Clementson (3), Adam Scott (2) and Ben Daly scored for Netherton who sit third in the table.

Thorney remain unbeaten, but it took a 92nd-minute equaliser from Liam Merryweather to secure a 1-1 draw at home to Holbeach United Reserves.

ICA Sports lost for the second time this season. Corban Oldham scored twice for Pinchbeck United in a 3-2 win. Dan Fountain and Andy Wayte scored for ICA.

Whittlesey Athletic and Moulton Harrox made progress in the President’s Shield with wins over Ketton and Sawtry respectively,

Whittlesey beat Ketton in the league last weekend (August 30), but needed extra time to see them off 3-1 in the Shield. It was 1-1 after 90 minutes, but goals from Matt Heron, Adam Moore and Jacob Smith eventually saw Whittlesey home.

Moulton Harrox continued their perfect start to the season with a 4-1 win at Sawtry. Benjamin Allen, Ian Bradbury, Billy King and Adam Abell scored for Harrox.
