Moulton Harrox moved back to the top of the Peterborough Premier Division on Saturday (October 17), but they were given an almighty scare by 10-man Riverside.
The leaders leap-frogged inactive Peterborough Sports Reserves with a 5-4 win - their ninth in nine games this season - but the city side delivered a superb battling display after seeing Thomas Lancaster sent off early in the second-half by referee James Truman.
Riverside battled back to take a 4-3 lead before Harrox recovered to win the match. Billy King (2), Joe Townsend, Ian Bradbury and Oliver Maltby scored the Harrox goals with Roberta Da Silva and Ayden Campbell-Brazier each scoring twice for Riverside.
Third-placed Holbeach United Reserves were held to a 2-2 draw at Ketton - William Bird scored twice for the home side - enabling Netherton United to close the gap in fourth after a 10-0 win over lowly Leverington.
Tom Randall scored four for Netherton with Adam Scott (2), Ben Daly (2), Luke Elsom and Steve Mastin also on target.
Pinchbeck United are sneaking up on the leading pack. Pinchbeck are unbeaten in eight matches and they’ve won their last five without conceding a goal after despatching Stilton United 5-0 last Saturday.
A rare goal from Luke Gardner set Pinchbeck on the way before recent recruit Dan Woods claimed his first two goals for the club. Ashley Murrell and top scorer Tony Edwards also scored.
Improving Stanground drew 2-2 at home to Langtoft United thanks to second-half goals from Klodjan Memaj and Josh Staggs and there was a welcome win for ICA Sports, 3-0 at Uppingham Town. Ashley Capes, Andy Wayte and Sam Donohoe scored the ICA goals.
Reece Kenton, Dan Merryweather and Josh Orange were the men on target for Thorney in their 3-1 win at Deeping Rangers Reserves.
Crowland remain bottom after losing 3-0 at Sawtry.
In Division One Stamford Lions made it 10 wins from 11 matches to stay top. Luke Ball, Ryan Brown, Rob Forster, Joe Lippett and Jake Walton scored for Lions who are six points clear of second-placed Wisbech Town Reserves.
Oakham United Reserves maintained their 100 per cent record in Division Two with a 4-3 win over Hampton, while Thorpe Wood Rangers took over at the top of Division Three after beating previous leaders Eye United 3-1. Luke Gale, Cardin Pierre-LIverpool and Ashley Pacey scored the Thorpe Wood goals.
Bretton North End beat Ramsey Town 4-2 to move into fourth place in Division Three. Fernand Bass (2), Joe Duffy and Michael Craig were the Bretton scorers.
