Coates beat Stilton in the big game in the ChromaSport & Trophies Peterborough League Premier Division on Saturday (April 4).

Andy Lodge’s side emerged 3-1 winners at Feldale Field thanks to goals by Matt Heron (2) and Joe Butterworth. James Nespoli was on target for Stilton.

League leaders Oakham just managed to win 2-1 at Holbeach Reserves to preserve their four-point advantage over Coates with three games each remaining.

Third-placed Stilton have five games left and are seven points behind Coates.

Langtoft’s Dan Evans took his tally of goals for the season to 20 when netting a hat-trick in his side’s 4-3 win over Pinchbeck. Talal Kamara got their other goal with Mark Thompson (2) and Ryan Leggett scoring for Pinchbeck.

Other Premier Division results:

Deeping Reserves 1, Crowland Town 1; Leverington Sports 2, ICA 3; Uppingham 1, Peterborough Sports Reserves 0.

In the ChromaSport Championship Shield competition Ketton pipped AFC Stanground 3-2 in a semi-final thriller. Alex Brockbank, Matthew Woodman and Alex Sismore were the Ketton marksmen while Luke McDowell and Thomas Staggs found the back of the net for Stanground, who had Daniel Hook sent off.
