There was a first defeat of the season for Peterborough Youth League Under 15 Division One leaders Eye United on Sunday.

They came unstuck 3-1 against closest rivals Pinchbeck, who have narrowed the gap to five points with a game in hand.

Ben Lawrence, Joshua Lawrence and Jack Withers were the players on target for Pinchbeck with Obabiyi Taiwo scoring for Eye.

In Under 15 Division Two, Spalding Blue have gone five points clear. While they were winning 6-0 against Hungate Rovers, second-placed Bourne were being held to a 2-2 draw by Netherton Bluejays.

Brandon Hall and William Reith-Hurd both scored doubles for Spalding.

There was also a first defeat of the season for Under 16 Division One title-chasers Malborne.

They had the chance to go top with leaders Wisbech St Mary Yellow not playing but went down 2-1 at home to Holbeach - for whom Samuel Bedwell-Byatt scored twice.

Holbeach have now moved up to third place.
