Decorators break down on the Parkway pitch

Sunday League football coverage from the Peterborough Telegraph - peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport

Parkway sent Premier Division rivals Premier Decorators tumbling to the biggest drubbing of the Peterborough Sunday Morning League season so far.

Striking aces Jamie Graham and Stuart Eason scored four goals apiece as Parkway roared to a 14-2 triumph today (October 7).

Mark Oxenham hit a hat-trick, Chris Brown struck twice and Danny Wilder also found the net.

Graham was grabbing four goals for the second successive Sunday for a Parkway side who are likely to lay down the strongest challenge to table-topping Netherton.

The reigning champions completed an early-season double over AFC Stanground. Adam Scotcher hit a hat-trick for the Grange lads in a 6-3 victory - a feat matched by Stanground frontman Karl Gibbs.

There was no joy for local sides in the opening round of the Northants Sunday Vase.

Diesel Power, Parkway Reserves, Sports Lounge and ICA Sports Reserves were all beaten in Northampton which meant a lot of long faces returning along the A45.

Sunday October 7 results:

Premier Division: Deeping Ath 7 (T. Smith 2, Smitheringale 2, D. Smith, Stewart, Porter), Cocos 4 (Deane 4); Netherton 6 (Scotcher 3, Setchfield 2, Randall), AFC Stanground 3 (Gibbs 3); Parkway 14 (Eason 4, Graham 4, Oxenham 3, Brown 2, Wilder), Premier Decorators 2 (Barber 2).
