The Peterborough Sunday Morning Premier Division is now down to five teams following the withdrawal of Ploughman FC.
Ploughman won the competition’s Hereward Cup at the end of last season and the league’s Charity Shield at the start of this season, but they ran into availability problems.
Bretton North End are setting the pace this season and they routed reigning champions Netherton United 10-0 last weekend.
Harley Williams and Corey Kingston both claimed hat-tricks and there were also goals for Ricky Rozario, John Danskin, Connor Pridmore and Joe Duffy.
Duffy, a tough-tackling centre-back in his prime, played in goal and scored from the penalty spot.
Netherton, who have won the title for the last four seasons, are currently bottom of the pile.
