Jake Sansby grabbed an 88th-minute equaliser for Netherton in their big Peterborough Premier Division match at home to Oakham United on Saturday (December 13).

Title favourites Oakham looked set to return to the top of the table after Edward McDonald fired them into the lead on the hour, but Sansby struck late to keep Netherton’s prospects alive.

Oakham saw an injury-time ‘goal’ disallowed by referee Sarah Grundy.

It was the best result for Coates Athletic. They were without a game on Saturday, but stay top by a point from Oakham who have two games in hand. Netherton are a further eight points adrift, but they have four games in hand on Coates and two on Oakham.

Stilton joined Netherton on 33 points following their thrilling 4-3 win at Thorney. Player-manager Mark Baines scored for Stilton as did Liam Rodden, Craig Smith and Tom Reynolds.

ICA Sports are now fifth following their 1-0 win over Crowland Town. Joshua Smith scored the only goal of the game against the bottom team.

ICA have a new management team of former Posh player Hamish Curtis and Angus Hepburn. Former boss Leighton Atkin is pursuing other coaching activities away from grassroots football, according to ICA officials.

Moulton Harrox knocked Pinchbeck out of the Lincs Junior Cup as goals from Billy King and Joe Townsend secured a 2-0 win. Pinchbeck striker Tom Gosling was sent off.

Peterborough Sports Reserves moved into the semi-finals of the President’s Shield with a 4-1 win at Leverington. Dougie Jackson (2), Andrew Bradley and Corey Kingston scored their goals.
