AFC Fletton boss Ian Rudd has refused to concede defeat to table-topping Ramsey in the Peterborough League Premier Division title race. The gripping battle for the championship took another dramatic twist last night when the city side went down to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Whittlesey.
Steve Mastin (2), Ian Christine and Ashley Jackson scored the goals that condemned Rudd's men to a third defeat in their last four games – in front of watching Ramsey chief Paul Taylor and several of his players.
Gareth Sanderson scored the Fletton goal.
The Rams remain four points clear and Fletton now have just one match in hand. But Rudd said: "We have three games left and need to win them all.
"The team that is top of the table at the end of the season deserves to win the league and we will still do all we can to make sure that is us."
