Dennis Harbour is celebrating another big win.

The Cambridgeshire county star from Dogsthorpe has added the BDO Gold Cup pairs trophy to this year’s impressive haul of silverware.

Harbour, who has won the Scottish Open, Isle Of Man Open and English National Championship singles in 2015, teamed up with county colleague Eddie Martin and they turned out to be the perfect pair.

The event was held at the Lakeside Country Club, venue for the BDO World Championships, and Harbour and Martin revelled on the biggest stage.

They overcame Sam and Rob Hewson from Lincolnshire 4-3 in the final after accounting for former world champion John Walton and experienced partner Garry Thompson, the pre-tournament favourites, 4-2 at the semi-final stage.

Martin Adams, the thre-times BDO world champion from Deeping, played in the Gold Cup singles and suffered a shock 4-0 defeat against Alan Bell from Bishop Auckland at the last 32 stage.

Ousider Bell went on to reach the semi-finals and tournament winner was Brian Dawson from Yorkshire.

In the ladies singles Cambridgeshire player Jane Judges reached the last 16.

She beat Gineka Hoekstra 4-1 at the last 32 stage but then lost 4-1 to Rhian Edwards.

Judges went out of the ladies pairs at the last 32 stage. She and partner Amanda Abbott beat Julie Robinson and Deb Hollins 4-0 but then lost 4-1 to Jac Leggatt and Gaynor Williams.
