Cambridgeshire remain bottom of the Inter-Counties League Premier Division after losing their second match of the season at home to Lancashire at the weekend.

England stars Martin Adams and Dennis Harbour made winning returns to the local side at the March GER Club and spearheaded Cambs to a 7-5 victory in the men’s A team clash.

The women’s A team also did well to hold a powerful Lancs sextet that included world number one Lisa Ashton to a 3-3 draw.

But defeats for the women’s B team (4-2) and the men’s B team (8-4) meant Lancs took the overall honours 23-16.

Adams finished with an impressive average of 34.55 after beating Alan Bell 4-0 and that was the top average in the whole of the Premier Division at the weekend.
