Twenty Twenty/20 wins in a row

England skipper Charlotte Edwards made 17 from 19 balls against the West Indies at Northampton

Charlotte Edwards has led England Ladies to an astonishing 20 Twenty/20 international wins in succession.

England beat the West Indies by 10 runs at Northampton today (September 13) to clinch a five-match series with two matches still to play.

At least England were pushed today as the two previous games were horribly one-sided.

England made just 103-7 in their 20 overs with all the batters struggling on a sluggish pitch, Edwards, who started her career as a junior at Ramsey, made 17 from 19 balls.

But England’s bowlers responded well to the challenge by dismissing West Indies for 93 with four balls to spare.

The final two matches take place at Hove on Saturday (September 15) and Arundel on Sunday (September 16). The teams then head off to Sri Lanka to play in the World Cup.
