Ketton Lions could well be battling fatigue as well as Uppingham Town in tonight’s (June 15) Stamford Charity Cup semi-final.

Tonight’s match at the beautiful Castle Hill Ground (Uppingham) will be Ketton’s eight match in 10 days (they had Tuesday and Saturday off) in six different competitions, a tough run for a team with a small squad by current standards.

However Ketton do have prolific Aussie Ben Bryant, who has started to take wickets with his off-spin while continuing to accumulate big runs, and South African Ulrich Van Duyker whose bowling has been very consistent all summer, so they will still carry a serious threat to in-form Uppingham

Uppingham have carried all before them in Rutland Division One this summer (they are top of the table with eight wins in eight games), but yesterday they were knocked out of Rutland League’s Twenty/20 competition by Peterborough Town.

The second semi-final tonight should also be a cracker as Nassington protect their unbeaten record in Twenty/20 competition at home to Charity Cup holders Bourne.

There is more top quality Twenty/20 action tomorrow (June 16) when Peterborough Town host Premier Division rivals Rushton in the last 16 of the Northants Cup at Bretton Gate (6pm).

Town are the holders of this competition and winning it means entry into the National rounds of the ECB Club Twenty/20 Championships. Town progressed all the way to the national semi-finals last season.

But Rushton have some exciting players of their own and there is added spice tomorrow as the teams played out a controversial draw in the Premier Division just last Saturday (June 13).

And completing a feast of local Twenty/20 action is a Jaidka Cup semi-final between Nassington and Ramsey on Wednesday (June 17, 6pm). Market Deeping await the winners having beaten Barnack in the first semi-final last Wednesday (June 10).
