Peterborough Town’s all-conquering cricket team took part in a pre-season training and bonding session at Trent Bridge last week.

It was officially a training weekend for the Cambs Minor Counties squad, but 10 Town players travelled.

Cambs will again be skippered by Town professional Paul McMahon - who was once on the first-class staff at Trent Bridge - and he invited clubmates Lewis Bruce, Dan Oldham, Rob Sayer, David Sayer, Tim Young, Marcus Howard, Joe Dawborn, David Clarke and Callum French on the weekend break.

Oldham has returned to Town from Northants Premier Division rivals Oundle Town, while Young, a former Notts Academy player, is a new signing .

Rob Sayer is not expected to play for Town this season because of his commitments with Leicestershire.

His younger brother David, who played for England Under 17s against Pakistan in the winter, should be available although he has also joined the Leicestershire Academy.

The Northants Premier Division kicks off on Saturday April 25, seven days after the Lincs Premier Division and Cambs League.

Town warm-up with a Midlands tour this weekend as they tackle friendlies at Kimberley (Notts) and Ocbrook(Derbyshire).
