Zeeshan Manzoor delivered another remarkable innings to push Barnack up to second place in Rutland Division One on Sunday (July 5).

Manzoor, whose big-hitting exploits are already the stuff of legend, batted at number nine for Barnack against Bourne at the Abbey Lawns and smashed a brilliant 122 not out that turned the game on its head.

Manzoor arrived late at the ground because of work commitments, but struck 10 sixes in a 64-ball innings!

Barnack were 12-6 at one point in their innings as teenage Bourne bowler Ben Woodward (4-13) enjoyed himself, but Shahid Mohammed (48) held firm until Manzoor arrived at the crease.

Barnack eventually posted 229-8 in their 45 overs which proved 42 runs too many for the home side. Shahid completed a decent all-round game with 3-29,

Barnack are still 57 points behind unbeaten runaway leaders Uppingham Town who collected another maximum points haul with a 145-run hammering of Nassington.

Wisbech gained quick revenge for a John Wilcox Trophy mauling at the hands of Oundle the previous weekend thanks to an outstanding all-round performance from Gary Freear.

Freear cracked an undefeated 93 in a Wisbech score of 265-5 and then claimed 6-63 as Oundle replied with 218.

Openers Josh Bowers (55) and Danny Haynes (50) also scored well for Wisbech, while Pete Foster claimed his second half century of the weekend for Oundle.

Reigning champions Peterborough Town completed back-to-back wins to ease their relegation fears. They beat eaton Socon by seven wickets at Bretton gate as Kieran Jones (5-42), Marcus Howard (72) and Chris Milner (65) showed good form.

Stamford beat bottom club Medbourne by six wickets.
