RUTLAND LEAGUE: Bourne blitz Stamford, Nassington stay perfect

Bourne made it three wins out of three with a quickfire nine-wicket win over Stamford Town at the Abbey Lawns. Pete Morgan’s men have yet to drop a solitary bonus point.

Yesterday’s game lasted just 40 overs and three balls as Stamford were shot out for just 66, a total Bourne passed for the loss of skipper Morgan (34) in just nine overs.

Tom Dixon (4-18) and Matt Kidd (2-14) had been the men in form with the ball.

Nassington are second in the table after collecting their second win in two matches.

Nassington were again in free-scoring form, reaching 250 for the second Sunday in a row to set up a 129-run win at reigning champions Uppingham.

Openers Harrison Craig (82) and Tom Burns (52) put on 114 for the first wicket as Nassington amassed 250-6 in their 45 overs. Burns struck three sixes in his run-a-ball knock.

Uppingham, who have now been thrashed in their opening two matches, were dimissed for 121 with new Aussie Adam McDermott taking 3-37.

Wisbech won their opening game of the season by 92 runs at barnack, who have now lost their opening two games.

Sixteen year-old Rhys Howell cracked 66 of Wisbech’s 200 befoe Brodie Ellis (5-27) wreaked havoc as the home side were hustled out for 108.

Oundle won by eight wickets at home to Ufford Park despite a fine knock of 64 for the visitors by Waqas Javed.

But Ufford’s 160 was never likely to be enough and so it proved with in-form Jack Bolsover (63) and Peter Foster (54no) hurrying their side home.

Ben Graves took his tally of weekend wickets for Oundle to eight with a spell of 5-27.
