The Lions will return to the top flight next season, probably with a 100 per cent winning record from a so-far perfect Division Two campaign.

They made it 14 wins from 14 games with an 82-run success at Castor last weekend (August 7) when opener Peter Rowe made 110.

Gifted all-rounder Shakir Mahmood leads the way with 793 runs, just five more than big-hitting team-mate Zeeshan Manzoor.

In third place is Wisbech legend Gary Freear who has been in awesome form in the last six weeks.

Since July 1, Freear has scored 686 runs in weekend matches for Wisbech at an average of 114. He’s recorded three tons in that time including an unbeaten 143 in a 75-run Division One win over Oundle last weekend.
