The Lincs Premier Division title hopes of Bourne and Market Deeping could well be over with half-a-season still to go.

Both lost yesterday (June 27) to drop further behind those setting the pace at the top. Reigning champions Bourne were humbled by seven wickets by current leaders Bracebridge Heath, while Market Deeping’s batting failed them for the second week in a row as they slipped to a disappointing 45-run defeat at Lincoln.

Conrad Louth top scored with 51 for Bourne as they were dismissed for 183 at Bracebridge, a total they never looked likely to defend.

Deeping’s spinners Jackson Andrews (3-13) and Mehul Adatia (3-42) restricted Lincoln to 159-9, but despite a 37-run opening stand between Ajaz Akhtar and Chris Jones, Deeping were rsuhed out for just 114. Adatia top-scored with 23.

Deeping are now fourth, one place ahead of Bourne, but Spalding would swap places with both of them.

Spalding are now 17 points adrift at the bottom after losing by 64 runs at Louth. That was tough on Dan Milgate who bagged 7-67 in Louth’s 225.
