Market Deeping are ready to unleash a teenage tearaway fast bowler on the Lincs Premier Division.
Patrick Brown (16) has been training with the Worcestershire Academy in the close season and his progress has apparently been as fast as his bowling.
Market Deeping skipper David Gillett said: “I’m in touch with the Academy staff at Worcester and Patrick has been described as poetry in motion.
“His run up, his action and his delivery all look perfect.
“He looked useful last season, but apparently he’s come on loads so I won’t be able to hold him back any longer.
“Patrick will open the bowling for us and I expect him to do well.”
Market Deeping were second, just 12 points behind eventual champions Bourne, at the halfway stage last season before fading badly.
They expect to sustain their challenge for longer this season.
Bourne have lost Stuart Airey from their 2014 title-winning squad, but they have plenty of good youngsters coming through the ranks to be hopeful of another strong showing.
