Charismatic Ketton captain Rob Vitas has reversed a sporting cliche ahead of the new season.
The Lions romped to the Cambs Division Two title last season, but Vitas believes top-spot in Division One will be beyond his team.
He is however still eyeing up some silverware. He will be concentrating on the cups more than the league.
“Cambs Division One will be tough this season,” Vitas stated. “The top clubs throw an awful lot of money at it and we probably won’t be able to compete with that.
“We can still be successful though and I have my eye on some Twenty/20 silverware.
“We look strong in that form of the game and as we are in four Twenty/20 cups, I fancy we could win a couple of them.”
There are plenty of overseas players taking part in the Cambs League this season and Ketton have an England-qualified Australian and a South African in their ranks.
Ajaz Akhtar, Peterborough’s greatest-ever all-round cricketer, has also signed up for another season, but one of last season’s three professionals, Devon Endersby, has moved on.
