Ketton Lions hope to carry their excellent Twenty/20 form into a Stamford KO Shield semi-final at Market Deeping Dragons tonight (July 6, 6pm).
Ketton won the Rutland Twenty/20 Cup with a comfortable win over Uppingham in Friday’s final (July 3), but they might find it harder at Outgang Road.
Ketton will be without star man Ben Bryant - man of the match against Uppingham - who is on Minor Counties duty with Cambs against a Deeping side keen to make amends for their recent capitulation in the Jaidka Cup Final.
Deeping will rely heavily on South African all-rounder Emile Kriek who has been in outstanding Twenty/20 form all season. Ketton will need their own South African Ulrich Van Duyker to maintain his fine summer form.
Nassington won that Jaidka Final and they will be expected to cruise past King’s Keys in tonight’s other Stamford KO Shield semi.
It’s also the start of the popular Burghley Park sixes competition tonight with holders Stamford Town taking on Uppingham in the opening match (6.15pm).
The sixes run every night this week with the semi-finals and final scheduled for Friday (July 10).
All-day friendlies precede the sixes competition every day.
