Classy stroke-maker Alex Martin passed 1,000 runs for Oundle this summer on the final day of the season.

The club’s wicket-keeper reached the milestone during an innings of 115 against Barnack in a Rutland Division One fixture.

He dominated Oundle’s innings of 198-7 - no other player made more than 16 - but Barnack won the game by five wickets to secure a fourth-place finish - their best finish for many seasons.

Asim Butt cracked 70 for Barnack.

Athambana Aazeer’s 58 for Cavaliers against Freiston in South Lincs Division One was a super knock as he batted at number nine and his team only managed 77 altogether as they slipped to a 44-run defeat!

Adam Hilless of Baston was another lower order man in the runs. He struck 51 batting an number eight for the champions in a 43-run win over Spalding thirds in South Lincs Division Two.

CAMRA’s Nick Bradbury and Neil Wright finished the season in outstanding form. Bradbury whacked 102 not out and 89 in friendly wins over Stoneygate and Elton Park. Wright contributed 90 not out and 55 in the same games.

Top all-rounder of the week was Nick Crook of Pinchbeck who returned remarkable figures of 5-2 from four overs and scored 51 in a four wicket South Lincs Division Two win over Graves Park.

Ketton’s development team won Hunts Division 5A after winning their final game against Eaton Socon.

Skipper Rob Vitas struck an unbeaten 74.
