Cricket: 'Minty' extra strong for Town seconds

THE Evening Telegraph's web wizard Richard Kendall wrote his own headlines by registering career-best figures over the weekend.

THE Evening Telegraph's web wizard Richard Kendall wrote his own headlines by registering career-best figures over the weekend.'Minty' was in hot form for Peterborough Town seconds taking 9-35 from 12 overs and five balls in a Northants Division Four match at Burton Latimer seconds.

The slow medium pacer's accuracy was spot on as three of his victims were bowled and three were lbw. Matt Milner took the other Latimer wicket as Town sealed a fourth straight win by 74 runs.

In Division Three, Oundle were denied victory for the second successive week, but they remain miles ahead at the top of the table after a draw with Old Northamptonians thirds.

Martin Van Der Merwe, who smashed a career-best 182 the following day, top scored with 94 in Oundle's 247-5. He also took three wickets as ON's reached safety with just one wicket in hand.
