Corinne beats good anglers to win her first ever match

Quite a few years ago the local area had some wonderful, talented lady anglers.

Quite a few years ago the local area had some wonderful, talented lady anglers.Robin Harris' daughters spring to mind along with Pauline Haines and more recently Lilly Wells.

Now it would seem we have another lady star angler in the making as on Sunday Corinne Smith won her first ever Cock Inn match against some good club anglers.

It was not easy either in scorching temperatures as the fish refused to feed on the Silver Fish Pool at Kingsland so a little more craft was needed to winkle out a few bites.

Smith finished top with 11lb 12oz of small fish taken on worm. Second place went to Steve Smith with 9lb 12oz followed by Tony Brando on 8lb 8oz.
