The channel reaches its 25th anniversary this month and to celebrate, they have put together a compilation of their best boxing moments.

It features Floyd Mayweather jr, Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe - and Renda !

His double knockdown with Paul Samuels when they fought in Stoke in November, 2009 is included among the most memorable boxing moments shown on Sky Sports - and has also had more than 200,000 views on You Tube.

Renda said: “It’s fantastic to be there with all those great fighters.

“I couldn’t believe it when my friend messaged me to tell me.

“People still talk to me about the double knockdown and with it being on You Tube, I think they will still be talking about it and watching it for another 50 years.”

Looking back on the double knockdown - that came in the second round of their first fight - Renda said: “We both leant in with a right hand and that leaves your body in a position to throw the left hook. That punch comes automatically, without even thinking about it.

“He hit me first, but I still got my shot in. I hit him when I was on the way down.

“I remember thinking: ‘What am I doing on the floor ?’

“I got up more or less straight away, he got up at ‘nine’ and we carried on bashing each other.

“It was like something out of a ‘Rocky’ movie !”

Renda ditched the hit-or-be-hit gun slinging that’s made him a fans’ favourite in his last fight, a comprehensive six-round points win over Mike Byles in Birmingham last month.

The 30 year old says that was “the best I’ve ever boxed” in his 41-fight career and is waiting to hear what’s next.

There’s the possibility Renda could meet the winner of next month’s clash between Joe Mullender and Lee Markham for the vacant English title.

He’s also hoping for a clash with Adam Etches after the Sheffield slugger’s manager, Richard Poxon, contacted him on Facebook.

Etches, beaten only once in 21 fights, is ranked in the top 10 in Britain by Sky Sports and Renda said: “They are the fights I want at this stage of my career.

“Etches is tough and can punch, but I can punch too.

“I think it would be a great fight.

“Eddie Hearn said he wants to put me on his future shows and I’m sure he will.

“I’m going to stay in the gym, keep training twice a day and see what comes up.”
