The Peterborough Police Amateur Boxing Club picked up a prize at the 2014 Living Sport Sports Awards at St Ives.

They won the Matthew Warn Power of Sport award which was donated in memory of Matthew Warn, the former deputy head of Norwood Primary School and a keen sportsman who died suddenly in August 2009. The Power of Sport Award is given to a sporting project or initiative that addresses the needs of young people or under-represented groups and improves their lives through sport.

In the ring meanwhile 14 year-old Paige Nealon from Fletton made her ring debut for the Peterborough Police club at a show in Dartford and was unlucky to miss out on a close points decision against home crowd girl Masey Courtney from the Bodyshots club.

Peter Puska picked up his second win for the club when winning comfortably on points against J. Steward from Sparta ABC at a show in March.

Anyone who wishes to assist the club with sponsorship can contact Chris Baker on 07921095122.
