Brett trumped again on World Tour by Scotland ace Anderson
Following a 12-3, 8-3 defeat of South Africa’s Shaun Nell in the opening round of the Co-operative Funeralcare International Open in Blackpool, Brett was beaten 3-10, 3-8 by Anderson who was repeating his World Championship success over the local bowler.
Brett will be on his travels again this week when he skips for England who bid to complete a hat-trick of British Isles team titles in Belfast.

Joan Robinson defends the women’s senior singles; Stephen Harris bids to retain the under 25 singles and the men’s triples with Cliff Watson and Peter Edwards; Nick Wilkie and Joe Randall, who also competes in the under 25 singles final, go again in the men’s pairs, while Martyn Dolby hopes to keep the men’s veterans singles title as well as the mixed triples with Chris Ford and Adam Warrington.
In fact, Dolby is on target for four titles, having also qualified for the men’s pairs with Warrington, who he meets in the men’s four-bowl singles decider.
So that means Warrington is on a hat-trick, along with Shirley Suffling, who goes in the women’s four-bowl singles, senior singles and mixed pairs.

CAMBS SENIOR LEAGUE
Peterborough’s hopes of winning the Cambs Senior League is now out of their own hands following a 82-46 defeat away to defending champions and title rivals Cambridge Chesterton A.
It was only their second league defeat of the season, but while they still head the table by three points, Chesterton have a match in hand worth a total of 10 points, so with four matches remaining, the city side are looking for a favour from somewhere.
