The Whittlesey Manor club have completed one of the most successful periods in their history, having won four trophies and the Peterborough League Premier Division title in the space of two weeks.
Following on from their Northants Bowling Federation cup double – Dan Duffy Trophy and the Adams Cup – they clinched the Peterborough League’s Midweek Premier Division title with two matches to spare, then lifted the League’s Munday Shield and Albert Rowlett Cup all in the space of three days.
The League’s other knockout cup, the Mick Lewin Trophy (Club 60 League Cup), went to Peterborough & District.
All three League finals were hosted by Whittlesey Manor, the home club of League president Melvyn Beck.
Whittlesey Manor defeated Peterborough & District 45-28 in the Munday Shield, with rink wins for Stuart Woodcock and Bob Burbridge.
Peterborough & District gained some compensation the following afternoon when winning the Mick Lewin Trophy and later in the day Whittlesey Manor won the Albert Rowlett Cup decider.
