Bjerre feels confident of reaching his first final tonight

KENNETH Bjerre believes he can book his place in a first World Championship final tonight.

KENNETH Bjerre believes he can book his place in a first World Championship final tonight.Panthers’ Danish star has roared into the semi-finals in three of his first four Grand Prix outings in his debut season on the sport’s biggest stage.

Now he is hungry to advance to a showpiece race and has set his sights on doing just that when lining up in the British GP at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Bjerre said: “I feel I am getting better and better as a rider and I just need that little bit of luck to help me.

“I have been making the semis regularly but have either missed the start, been unlucky in the first corner or been squeezed out of things like happened in Denmark last time.

“I am not the sort of rider that gets nervous and I think I have just been unfortunate so far.

“But I really want to make the next step now by getting myself into a final and going on to win a GP.

“I feel fast enough to make a final and there is no reason why I shouldn’t be able to do it in Cardiff.”

Bjerre goes into tonight’s extravaganza holding eighth position in the overall standings.

The top eight riders at the end of the season automatically qualify for the 2010 series.

This will be Bjerre’s first taste of British Grand Prix speedway.
