PETERBOROUGH Azure Ladies manager Steve Jason is determined to take the club to the next level – but he needs the help of a handful of new players.Jason is keen to launch a promotion drive in the East Midlands Premier Division next season and challenge for a rise into Combination level football.

He said: "I'm sure there are enough players in this area to make a succesful ladies team that can play at the next level.

"It is just a case of trying to pursuade them that it is possible with commitment.

"As well as being always open to finding new players, I'm particularly looking for women that have perhaps played at a higher level in the past and want to use that experience to channel the efforts of our younger players in the right direction.

"I'm quite certain that at Azure we have the best crop of players in the 17-20 age bracket in the county, but we found last season that we suffered against physically stronger and more experienced sides."

Azure begin pre-season training on Thursday at Bushfield. All players are welcome to go along or can call Steve Jason on 07944 574131 for further information.
