A handful of local athletes took part in the big England Athletics Under 20 and Under 23 Championships at Bedford over the weekend.

Nene Valley Harrier Robbie Shaw gained the best result, just missing out on a medal in the men’s Under 20 shot. He finished fourth with 14.76m.

Peterborough Athletic Club had two athletes finish in the top six.

Jamie Horne leapt 1.99m to take fifth place in the men’s Under 20 high jump while Ella De Lucis clocked a personal best 14.40 when finishing sixth in the women’s Under 20 100m hurdles.
