Hannah Molyneaux made a sparkling debut for Nene Valley Harriers at the North of England Indoor Championships in Sheffield on Sunday.

Competing in her first event as a Nene Valley Harrier following her move up to Lincolnshire from Bournemouth, Monyneaux won the Under 15 girls shot putt with an indoor personal best of 13.01m.

This was over a metre clear of her nearest rival and was set in the very first round.

It was a throw which not only gave her a first Northern Championship title but it was also a Nene Valley Harriers club record and it sent her soaring to the top of the UK Under 15 girls rankings for the 3kg shot.

Jasmine Allen had her first outing since being injured in a car accident earlier this year and ran well to win her heat of the Under 15 girls 200m in a respectable time of 27.83.

But she found the semi-final tough going and her time of 28.13 wasn’t quite quick enough to make the final.
