Neal wins her age group at the Alsager 5

MARCH athlete Melissa Neal won the Over 35 women’s age group at the Alsager 5 in 31.27.

Neal finished 12th lady and 108th overall and was delighted with her performance given the difficult conditions.

She said: “It went really well and I enjoyed it although it was very slushy in places.

“It was difficult to overtake in places because you had to try and stick to the better running line. The second mile was slippery but generally the course wasn’t too bad.

“I had to take it easy around corners and it was also foggy which didn’t help but I was very pleased to finish first veteran.”
