Local pair Lewis Davey and Ellie Mae-Stokes just missed out on medals at the Anglian Schools Combined Events Championships at Chelmsford over the weekend.

Davey from Peterborough Athletic Club was fourth in the Under 15 boys pentathlon - just three points off the bronze medal position - while Nene Valley Harrier Stokes finished fourth in the Under 20 women’s heptathlon.

Davey achieved personal bests in all five disciplines and finished with a personal best score of 2,520 points. He also ran the fastest 800m in 2.15.3.

Under 15 Boys Pentathlon: 4 Lewis Davey (PAC) 2,520 points. 800m - 2.15.3; 80m hurdles - 12.2; High Jump - 1.62; Long Jump - 5.53; Shot 8.13.

Under 20 Women’s Heptathlon: 4 Ellie Mae-Stokes (NVH) 2,877 points. 200m - 28.9; 800m - 3.31.4; 100m hurdles - 19.6; High Jump - 1.37; Long Jump - 4.85; Shot - 7.47; Javelin - 32.43.

Under 17 Men’s Octathlon: 6 Grigory Kondratovic 3,539 points. 400m - 58.1; 1500m - 5.11.3; 100m hurdles - 16.4; High Jump - 1.54; Long Jump - 5.19; Shot - 9.32; Discus - 28.43; Javelin - 31.69.

Under 17 Women’s Heptathlon: 8 Bethany Denial (NVH) 3,585pts. 200m - 29.1; 800m - 2.39.7; 80m hurdles - 13.5; High Jump - 1.50; Long Jump - 5.04; Shot - 8.01; Javelin - 18.94.

Under 15 Girls Pentathlon: 7 Ellie Forrest (PAC) 2,476 points. 800m - 2.51.8; 75m hurdles - 12.6; High Jump - 1.39; Long Jump - 4.53; Shot - 9.30.
