Aunger impresses in a rare competitive outing

FORMER British Masters indoor 3000m champion Ian Aunger of Nene Valley Harriers made a rare competitive appearance when finishing eighth in the Cambridge ParkRun 5k.

n BRJ’s Esther Cotton was first Over 65 woman at the Bedford ParkRun 5k, finishing 79th in 30.49, while husband Tony was first Over 70 when placing 90th in 34.14.

n A HANDFUL of locals competed in the Ryston Cross-Country at Shouldham Warren with Spalding veteran Tom Drew leading the local challenge in the main race.

n NENE Valley Harriers 400m record-holder Georgie Ivens reached the Under 20 women’s semi-finals at the South of England Indoor Championships at Lee Valley, placing third in the heats in 61.79 before finishing fourth in the semis in 60.31.

Peterborough Athletic Club’s Nichola Gibson was fifth in her heat of the senior women’s 400m, clocking 62.63.

n PETERBOROUGH Athletic Club pair Ashley Watson and Nathanael Grenfell were in winning form at the Midland Indoor Open at Birmingham.
