Triathlete Paul Vernon stormed to victory in yesterday’s (December 13) Frostbite League race at Hinchingbrooke Park.
It was a third successive win in the league for the Peterborough Triathlon Club (PACTRAC) racer and he finished over half a minute clear of the field.
His winning time was 29mins 37secs and runner-up was Riverside’s Matt Nicholson in 29.10 with Mike Salt from Cambridge & Coleridge third in 29.33.
Tracey McCartney of Nene Valley Harriers was first female finisher in 54th place in 33.47.
Nene Valley Harriers, who were led home by Rhys Goddard in fifth place in 30.05, were team winners on the day and lead overall by a point from Hunts AC.
Cameron Everist from Bourne won the junior race. He finished seven seconds clear of Riverside’s William Forster with Luke Fenner of March AC taking third place.
