Angling: Mark One go so close to an upset in Super League final

The Sensas Mark One side have, in recent years, taken on some of the biggest teams in the country and to be fair to them have acquitted themselves very well.Last weekend they fished the final of the Drennan Super League and really felt the highs and lows in the world of big match fishing.

On day one they came within a few points of toppling the mighty Daiwa Dorking on the Barston and Packington Fisheries. They came second on 36 points to Dorking's 33, which was a fine achievement.

Unfortunately a poor draw on day two saw them rapidly drop down the order, eventually finishing a very creditable fourth overall.

Daiwa Dorking duly won the two-day event. In fact, they won it by a country mile, Drennan North West taking second place some 30 points adrift.

You can see how the Dorking lads do it so well by coming along to the Angling Times Team Championship Final on July 12 on the River Nene when most of the best teams in the country will be looking to topple them from the top spot.

With 17 of the top teams competing this year, many including England internationals, it's sure to be a real showcase match. Let's just hope the Nene also performs a little better than it did last year so that all the anglers can show off their skills.
