The Whittlesey AA anglers fished Carrot Wash just above Pondersbridge on Saturday and the drain fished well.
Roger Biddle finished out in front with 14lb 10oz. His catch included a brace of tench along with perch, all taken on a chopped worm line.
Frank Bevilacqua put a net of small fish to the scales taken with pinkie on a long whip for 6lb 7oz, then came Mike Mohan in third place on 6lb 6oz.
Ramsey & District Angling Society anglers fished for the Phil Aldred Memorial Cup on the high numbers along the Forty Foot Drain, a venue in desperate need of a good flush through.
Winner from peg 160 was Keith Rayment with 3lb 15oz. He caught 129 small fish on pinkie over groundbait.
Just a few pegs away was runner-up Paul Kilby with 1lb 13oz, followed by Andrew Kilby on 1lb 8oz and Harry Young on 14½oz.
TYDD GOTE AC
At long last the North Level Drain is starting to show some good form with catches well above the average we have seen from the venue this season.
Top rod in the latest Tydd Gote AC match fished at Clough Bridge was Dick Paul. He had two very nice tench in his catch of 10lb 10oz, taken on worm.
Then came Colin Burton with 7lb 10oz and Dave Williams with 5lb 5oz.
