Have your say

Pike anglers have been doing really well on our local fenland waters lately.

The Forty Foot Drain close to the bridge has seen several decent fish taken and the Twenty Foot Drain has also been producing.

Best of all though has to be Glassmoor Bank. Not for the first time this season, city rod Gavin Stewart had a good day on the drain topped off with a personal best of 20lb 8oz.

Anglers pike fishing Grafham and Rutland over the past week have found the conditions testing to say the least, but also very rewarding when a good pike is taken.

On Sunday, fishing in windy and bitterly cold conditions, Warmington angler Richard Lee took a beautiful pike of 24lb on a big rubber lure.

In the Angling Trust Pike Qualifier held at Ramsey St Mary’s, top rod with five fish weighing in at 43lb 6oz was Norman Knightly, who also had the biggest fish of the day at 14lb 6oz.

Runner-up with one pike of 14lb was Keith Rayment followed by Paul Keepin on 4lb.

Tydd Gote are running an A.C.A Pike Qualifier Open on Sunday. The draw is at Clough Bridge at 8am.
