He continued his remarkable run of form at the fishery at the weekend with two more wins, taking the honours in the Friday Over 55s match on the Beastie Lake and in the JVAC match on the same lake on Sunday.

In the Over 55s match he drew well on peg 23 and weighed in 80lb 4oz, fishing on a small feeder with popped up baits.

At the next peg Mick King caught well on maggot but he had skimmers and a few carp for a level 64lb.

On Sunday, Richardson, drawn on peg 26, fished the pole long with pellet then in the later stages he had a great run close in netting F1s by feeding heavy with red maggot. He finished with 140lb 1oz.

Just a few pegs away on 29 was Nick Carlton. He caught steadily all day on the pole with maggot for 110lb 4oz and third place went to John Seeley on peg two with 105lb 12oz.

The overnight frost saw some of the pools at Decoy Lakes fish below par.

Hotpoint AC were on Lou’s Pool where Paul Faulkner finished way out in front from unfancied peg four.

Most of the match saw Faulkner on a small Method feeder fished tight across to the far side netting fish to 8lb.

In the last hour he came in to the margins to take a few big carp on paste to finish with 73lb 8oz.

Second place went to Kev Schneider, another angler who caught late in the match on paste, with 39lb 14 oz.

That pushed me back into third place on 39lb 5oz.

The pairs event went to Faulkner and Dave Langridge with a total of 87lb 11oz with runners-up Vince Stapleton and Ken Wade some way behind on 49lb 2oz.

COCK INN

Cock Inn AC fished the Willows at Decoy for the first time this year and in the early part of the match most found it tough going.

But the experience of Mick Sidney shone through as he made a welcome return to form. The former club champion topped the field with 63lb 2oz from peg 31, mostly carp and F1s at six metres on pole fished prawn.

Second place went to Chris Shortland from peg 33 with 53lb taken on the feeder with pellet, then it was Gary Sell with 44lb from peg 24, again most fish falling to feeder tactics.

FLOAT FISH FARM

In the Over 55s match at Float Fish Farm Fishery it was Ted Rowe topping the field with a fine 64lb 7oz net of carp all taken up in the water on maggot and pellet.

Not far behind was Whittlesey rod Tony Hudson with a level 60lb on the feeder, then came Stan Dow with 59lb 2oz.

On Saturday in the regular open match fished on the Two Island Pool it was Dow once again leading the way. He caught a few on the feeder and some better samples on the pole line, weighing in 59lb 12oz.

Pushing him close was John Hudson, whose worm and caster approach saw him put 57lb 14oz to the scales. Third was Shaun Waterfall, with 51lb.
