Horsehoe lucky forSchneider

One of my favourite lakes on the Decoy complex is Horseshoe, as it has so many pegs from which you can make the frame.

On Sunday I fished there with the Hotpoint club but failed to do peg six justice despite good advice from fishery regulars.

Leading the way from peg 14 was Kev Schneider, who has only just got back into club match-fishing this season, but is already making very good headway.

He fished the margins for most of the day on sweetcorn and meat to finish with 137lb 7oz.

Pushing him close was Paul Faulkner on peg 17. He came up just short on his pellet and paste approach, weighing in 131lb 15oz.

Third from peg one was Tyrone Horn. He caught on the feeder then switched to the margins with dead reds for 107lb 13oz.

COCK INN

Six Islands at Decoy was the venue at the weekend for the Cock Inn fixture.

Top rod on the day and winning his first match since joining the club this year was Larry Robertson with 96lb 1oz from peg three. He caught carp close in on dead red maggots on the pole.

Second was Chris Shortland returning to form with 79lb 12oz from peg six all taken on a small feeder, followed by Mick Sidney in third place with 69lb 11oz.
