It turned out to be a match of two halves for the Fenland Rods anglers on the Elm Pool at Decoy Lakes.
Those pegged at the bottom end all caught while the rest of the field struggled for bites.
Drawn on peg 11, the last peg of the match, was Mac Campbell, who caught all day long close in on pellet for a winning weight of 122lb, mainly F1s with the occasional larger fish.
On the opposite side to him on peg 13 was Neil Garner.
He fished cat meat close in on rod and line for 118lb 12oz.
Peg 15 saw Mel Lutkin fishing straight lead with hair-rigged cat meat to record 95lb 8oz for third place.
The Peterborough Conservative Angling Club fished the Willows at Decoy on the high numbers and with the warmer weather saw quite a few fish being taken up in the water.
It’s a tactic Bob Walker has perfected and it certainly showed in the result as he romped home from unfancied peg 16 with a massive 124lb 12oz.
Runner-up from peg 29 was John Parnell. He caught on cat meat, recording 81lb 15oz, and was followed by John Newman with 68lb 9oz in third place.
