Bevilacqua bags big tench on the Narrows

The Ramsey club continue to provide lots of matches for their members, running three events in the past week.

In the Wednesday match at Factory Bank, Ken Taylor topped the field with 8lb 6oz of small fish from peg one.

Joint second were Ray Myring and Malc Sansom with 6lb 11oz and then came Keith Rayment with 6lb 6oz.

On Sunday the club switched from St Marys to the Narrows due to ongoing dredging.

It proved to be an inspired move as Frank Bevilacqua caught six big tench and a few roach on worm for 23lb 12oz.

Vern Edgley came in second with three tench for 11lb 1oz and then it was Malc Hobbs with 10lb 8oz. His catch included a fine perch of 2lb 8oz.

All the action then switched to the Old Nene at Halfpenny Toll for the pike anglers. Enzo Serino put two pike to the scales for 11lb 5oz which was enough to win the match.

Terry Jolly came second with two small fish for 6lb 9oz, then came Martin Smith with one fish weighing 6lb 1oz.
