POSH have drawn a blank in their attempts to bolster the playing squad ahead of Saturday's Championship clash with Middlesbrough at London Road.
Manager Mark Cooper revealed today that he tried and failed to sign Arsenal right-back Kerrea Gilbert. He was also unsuccessful in a bid to sign an unnamed centre forward.

Cooper said: "We've exhausted all our avenues. My ears are burning from being on the phone all day and the chairman and Barry Fry have been working hard all day as well."

Central defender Craig Morgan's proposed move to League Two Notts County has fallen through, but left back Jamie Day and striker Ben Wright have moved on loan to Dagenham & Redbridge and Grimsby respectively."

So let me just get this right.

Cooper says we need 2 or 3 players with Championship experience and that some players will go out on loan, all before the deadline.

What actually happens is that we do put 3 players out on loan, 2 of them with a view to a sale in the January transfer window, We get in some non league guy with a long throw with no experience at this level although he did used to polish boots at West Brom.

Yep that seems fair!

So yet again a tabloid runs a story.
Fry gives it credit by responding to it, and a day later its proved to be rubbish. TBH it happens so often you are immune from feeling any outrage.

Why we release our only right back before we sign a replacement seems a little foolish, have we anyone considerably better than Martin in our squad?

Hope to god Griffiths proves to be better than Williams because again we've failed to address where our strengths and weaknesses are in the squad and responded positively.
We seemed to have got rid of players and then thought, maybe we should sign some replacements, while a well run club would have built a squad in the summer and used pre-season to incorporate new signings into the team. We've now brought in 7 loan players which tells a story.

Somebody at Meadow Lane must have sobered up after being taken out on the booze by Barry Fry last night.

So we end up with a weaker squad than we sared the day with.

Fantastic business.

Fantastic business. I am becoming more and more concerened about whether Posh can even afford to be in this division, never mind compete in it.

The Posh spin doctors strike again.Big striker with proven league experience my eye.Maybe Roy of the Rovers had a better offer.Who after all, in there right mind would want to come to a club that has imploded in three months. Its a joke & im afraid its on us.
