Tennis: Daniel's double delight

STUART Agger and Daniel Fielding were double winners at the Yaxley Table Tennis Club Championships.
Agger claimed the senior singles and handicap singles crowns, while talented teenager Fielding came out on top in the junior singles and doubles events.

Fielding also finished runner-up to Agger in the handicap competition despite the advantage of an eight-point headstart and in the senior doubles alongside James Watkins.

The finals were all so closely contested they were spread over two nights as they ran out of time on the original date! Sponsor Mohammed Farouk of The Maharanis restaurant was on hand to present the prizes.

Finals: Senior singles: Stuart Agger beat Simon Le Provost 3-2; Senior doubles: Adam Saunders and Simon Le Provost beat James Watkins and Daniel Fielding 3-2; Handicap singles: Stuart Agger beat Daniel Fielding (+8) 33-31; Plate singles: Chris Lewis beat Paul Adams; Junior singles: Daniel Fielding beat Ryan Shaylor; Junior doubles: Daniel Fielding and Chris Lewis beat Adam Jackson & Ahmed Bhamani.
