Swales: Bager capture can help Panthers on two fronts
PANTHERS boss Trevor Swales believes the capture of Henning Bager has solved two of the club's biggest problems in one fell swoop.
Swales reckons the 27 year-old Dane, who was signed on loan over the weekend after being released by Premier League club Birmingham, should be capable of adding the solid scoring at second string which has been missing so far this season.
And Bager's arrival provides a double boost as it means struggling Morten Risager drops down to reserve where Swales believes he can become a key rider for the club.
Swales said: "We have said all along that we have more than one problem and there would be no quick fix, but I feel the signing of Henning will help us a lot on two fronts.
"Henning will slot straight into the team at number two where he can certainly do a solid job for us at home and away. He is the sort of guy who can ride any line on any track and he absolutely loves this club.
"Morten has had a tough time this season but he has shown the odd sign of getting his form back.
"No-one wants to be successful more than Morten and going down to reserve could be just what he needs. He had a tremendous spell when riding at reserve for Coventry early last season and I feel he can become a bit of a star for us in the same position."
Swales will discover whether his premonition comes true when Panthers return to the track on Thursday for a crunch home clash against Wolverhampton. They then face home and away clashes against Coventry on Bank Holiday Monday.
