DEEPING Sports went into the middle of nowhere to claim county cup success.
Alex Brown's men triumphed 5-2 at Tetford in the second round of the Lincs Junior Cup – but it wasn't exactly a memorable afternoon.

Brown said: "Tetford is a village on the way to Horncastle that seemed to be home to four people, a dog and a foot
ball team.

"They had the tiniest pitch I've ever seen and the changing rooms were a Portakabin in the middle of a field.

"There was no space to play football and it was a bizarre experience, but at least we got through."

Sports did fall behind but Matt Farrington (2), Ryan Birtles, Carl Griffiths and Ian Bradbury shot them through.

Moulton Harrox co-boss Paul Kent was in happy mood after a 5-0 triumph over Stamford Bels.

A Josh Ford double, a maiden first-team goal for Jake Grogan and other efforts from Nick Keeble and Billy King did the trick for Harrox. Bels' cause was not helped by losing goalkeeper-manager Paul Downs to injury when 2-0 down.

Kent said: "It was our best performance of the season. Our main aim is to win something in the Peterborough League, but it is good to have a run in the county cup as well."

Rutland Rangers translated their excellent league form into a successful first-ever appearance in the Leicestershire Senior Cup.

Goals from Jamie Forbes, Robbie Pearce and Jamie Saddington ensured they won 3-1 at Barwell in the first round despite trailing at half-time.
