The city side are top of a high-class table after dropping just one bonus point in their opening two matches.
It's unusual for Town to start so well, but skipper Ajaz Akhtar is convinced there is much more to come from his well-balanced outfit.
He's named an unchanged side for the long trip to Stony Stratford tomorrow with university student Cameron Wake the only notable absentee.
Akhtar said: "It's been a very encouraging start and we will get better. We haven't yet had the runs that we'd expect from the likes of Alan Burton and Asim Butt, but I'm sure that will change soon.
"What we have seen though is our ability to win when batting first which is a good skill to have in this league. Most teams are defensive and try to bowl first to ensure a draw if their run chase goes wrong, but they can't do that against us.
"With Waqas Chugthai in the side, we tend to race through batsmen at the bottom of the order. We have been asked to bat first in both our matches so far, but we have still won so convincingly I'm probably going to opt to bat first if I ever win a toss.
"Waqas has returned faster and more accurate than ever so I'm confident our stay at the top will not be a flash in the pan. If we can pick up close to maximum points against the weaker teams, we could then afford to draw the odd game against the stronger sides like Finedon."
Reigning champions Finedon are one of the teams currently chasing Town hard and they visit Bretton Gate a week on Saturday. Town will hope opener David Clarke is still in outstanding form by then.
The wristy stroke-maker has bashed 91 and 55 in his two knocks so far.
Akhtar added: "David is playing very positively and it's very encouraging to watch.
"He scored his 90 in 30 overs on the opening day of the season and last weekend he scored 48 of the first 52 runs and then holed out on the boundary in about the 15th over."
Teenage prospect Alex Mitchell retains his place in the side tomorrow. Stony Stratford have Zimbabwean international Deon Ebrahim back for a second season.
MARKET Deeping seek a fourth straight Lincs Premier Division win at Messingham tomorrow, while local rivals Bourne travel to Caistor.
The pick of the local Cambs League action sees Nassington host Sawston. Both teams enjoyed handsome wins on their season bows last weekend.
Rutland Division One title favourites Oundle are at Wisbech on Sunday.
PETERBOROUGH Town pair Ajaz Akhtar and David Clarke are in the Cambs side to face Dorest in the Minor Counties Cricket Association Trophy at March on Sunday (11am).
Cambs need a win to maintain hopes of qualifying for the knock-out stages as one of the top two teams in a five-team group. Gary Freear of Wisbech will again skipper Cambs and clubmate James Williams joins him in the side.
Lincs are in the same group and have won their opening two matches, including one against Cambs, to top the group. Lincs beat Dorest by 32 runs last weekend.
They host Bucks at Bracebridge Heath on Sunday - Wales are the other team in the group.
Cambs team: G. Freear, S. Kellett, N. Ferriby, D. Brandy, S. Park, D. Clarke, T. Harvey, A. Akhtar, A. Clarke, J. Williams, T. Smith.
